Heel pain upon walking after waking up in the morning is a common condition that many people are seen to be having nowadays. It is associated with the irritation of the nerves causing too much tension in the plantar fascia thus becoming an inflammation that is called Plantar fasciitis. Once the feet gets strained and overused it is very likely to create a tremendous stress to the fascia leading to inflammation causing pain on the heel most especially during prolonged walking or standing. Another would be to find the perfect shoes that provide good support to the arch of the foot to prevent it from too much stress when walking, standing or running.
Once Plantar fasciitis has been diagnosed by a doctor through clinical examination there are several remedies that are to be done. One is to decrease the amount of walking distance, as the pain will become severe if walking and standing for long periods of time will not be avoided. Second is to use ice compress to the affected part for about ten to fifteen minutes after walking to reduce the pain. Third would be to massage the foot during the first minute of waking up in the morning to loosen up the arch tissue, which can really be tight and contracted in the morning. Lastly, to use a night splint to flex the foot so that the arch tissue will not tighten and cause tremendous pain upon waking up in the morning.
